Senior Quantity Surveyor

Description:
·         Our client is a leading global construction and management consultancy firm with a Senior Quantity Surveyors vacancy within the Mining & Metals Service Sector based in[Location].

The ideal candidate will be taking responsibility for service delivery on large and complex projects and some of the incumbents duties will be as follows:
·         Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
·         Managing and taking ownership of the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, bills of quantities, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
·         Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
·         Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
·         Preference will be given to candidates with mining and PRQS experience.
·         A minimum of 5 years experience and a BSc QS degree is required as well as your own transport and valid drivers licence.

Responsibilities include developments such as:
·         New build, refurbishments and regeneration. Sectors cover mining, housing, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, health.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:
·         Communicate at all levels
·         Meet deadlines
·         Audit projects and administer construction contracts
·         Quantity surveying

Knowledge:
·         building methods and techniques
·         preparing bills of quantities
·         preparing feasibility studies
·         surveying principles, practices, techniques & standards
·         tender processes
·         the costing of projects
