Description:
·         Our established client in the engineering industry is looking for a Health and Safety Officer for their plant in the East Rand who'll facilitate all activities with regard to Health and Safety to achieve a 5-star NOSA rating.
·         The position reports to the Health and Safety Manager.

Minimum Requirements:
·         Matric
·         National Diploma in Safety Management/ relevant qualification
·         Completed Samtrac
·         Minimum of 5 years experience as a Safety Officer
·         Strong safety facilitation and influencing ability
·         Ability to solve problems at a practical level
·         Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
·         Proven written and presentation skills
·         MS Office experience (word, excel, powerpoint and outlook)
·         Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally

Successful applicant will be responsible for:
·         Facilitate health and safety training and induction
·         Update policies and procedures
·         Conduct health and safety admnistration and reporting
·         Conduct incident and accident investigations and root causes analysis
·         Implement and ensure compliance with the occupational health and safety act
·         Carryout hazard identification and risk assessments
·         Create and sustain a behaviour based safety culture
Involvement in internal and external safety audits
