Engineer Technician

Description:
[Company] offers a relaxed small company feel with diverse work assignments and some travel. Engineer technician for support contract efforts at Engineer R&D Center in Vicksburg, MS and overseas.  Applies knowledge and experience to provide specialized support of diverse DoD and other government agencies’ efforts in antiterrorism, force protection, and other related efforts.   Duties include data and soil sample collection; use of geographic positioning systems (GPS) and various still camera and video systems; construction activities including but not limited to digging, installing and connecting copper and fiber-optic cables to specialized systems, and lifting heavy (over 70 lbs.) items, use of various hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pickaxes, common carpentry and electrician tools, and specialized tools related to geology, information systems, and construction; quality assurance/quality control of other contractors’ efforts,  and development of plans, procedures, and techniques for obtaining and analyzing data. Conducts and documents debriefings and maintains records of activities.   Duties include outside and inside work during various changing weather conditions in all climates.  Locations for work include the US and overseas in potentially hostile areas for extended periods of time.  
 
Education:
  • Minimum education requirements is a high school diploma. 
  • College work toward an associate or bachelors degree is desirable. 
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete DoD Antiterrorism Level I course.
 
Experience/Skills:
  • Must have experience with DoD or other government agencies. 
  • Secret security clearance is required.  
  • Must be computer literate with experience using Microsoft and other applications on laptops and desktops. 
  • Must have current U.S. passport. 
  • Veteran status and experience is desirable.  
  • Experience with geographic positioning systems is desirable.
