Financial Controller

·         70,000.?00 - 75,000.?00 per year

Description:
·         My client is a leading commodities business with focus on Oil, Metals and renewable energy with over 30 offices globally.
·         They are currently recruiting a qualified Spanish speaking accountant to take up the position as a Financial Controller for their Mining division, based in Geneva.
·         Reporting into the mining CFO, the role is responsible for financial and management accounting of the Mining division which include producing value added management information, realise process improvements as well as the timely preparation of reliable trial balances and reporting packages from the accounts ledgers.
·         The Finance Controller will need to work closely with the commercial teams and group business controllers in a fast moving business where inherent risks have to be mitigated by implementing imaginative and effective controls.

Requirements:
·         My client is seeking a qualified Spanish speaking accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA who is self motivated with a mature attitude. You must be able to cope in a stressful, demanding environment and demonstrate strong communication skills.
·         The successful candidate must be persuasive and able to gain attention and action from members of other teams whose immediate objectives may not always be aligned with your own. Drive and determination to obtain understanding of complex, business-driven transactions and report these accurately according to the appropriate accounting standards will be Key.
·         This role requires the successful candidate to speak fluent Spanish and ideally have come from a similar industry.
·         Experience in Sun accounting systems and advanced knowledge of Excel would be advantageous.
·         Knowledge of Mining accounting and Derivatives and hedge accounting is desirable.
·         You the candidate will have a strong working knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP (desirable).
