Mine Project Planner

Description:
·         Contract
·         Contract senior position in the mining sector in the Dem Rep of Congo.
·         Our client is looking for a suitably qualified and experiences Mine Project Planner for their operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
·         This is a senior level contract position and it will be expected from the incumbent to fulfil a planning role in respect of the total mining projects ongoing at the operations.
·         Our client is looking for an experienced analytical thinker that has previously operated in a similar environment and that is able to stand back and critically evaluate and ensure objectives are met through his/her interventions and initiatives.
·         For the right individual our client is offering an annual Salary of US$120,000 (tax free) plus other benefits. In addition to this a discretionary annual bonus of 10% is paid based on company and overall individual performance.
·         This position reports directly to the Project Manager on site but will have dealings with all stakeholders at the operations.
·         This is a single status position. (Also a residential position as opposed to a fly-in-fly-out position) Ample leave is provided for with a travelling allowance paid per annum in addition to the annual
·         package specified.
 
Key Performance Areas:
·         Interpreting and analyse the 5 year operational plans and update accordingly
·         Planning and alignment of capital and resources requirements
·         Liaison, discussions and information gathering with all stakeholders to facilitate the success of the total project
·         Responsible for total mine and production planning in line with the 5 years expansion and operational plan
·         Responsible for the management of the construction function at the mine operations
 
Key Technical Skills Required:
·         Tertiary technical qualification. (Engineering – Mining, Mechanical/Electrical, Metallurgical)
·         The ideal candidate will have an engineering background and sound knowledge of chemical and metallurgical Projects as well as surface processing projects.
·         10 years experience in a mining construction project environment.
·         5 Years minimum experience in a senior project planning position for similar projects.
·         Fully familiar with Primavera Planning software.
·         High level of computer literacy, Microsoft Office etc.
 
Key Competencies Required:
·         Good communication skills.
·         Able to manage and direct a team of construction planners to maintain continuity of planning methods.
·         Able to produce effective reports for management.
Able to function within a team structure
