Qualifications
·         Applicants should be in possession of at least a B Tech - (Metallurgical or Mechanical) or National Diploma (Mechanical) with a S.A.I.W. welding and NDT (non destructive) certification

Additional Requirements:
·         5 years relevant experience
·         Experience as a foreman or head will serve as recommendationJ
·         An S.A.I.W welding technologist certification will be an advantage

The incumbent will be responsible for:
·         Perform consulting work
·         Apply international welding codes for the qualifying of welding procedures and training of welders
·         Testing and calibrating of welding equipment and quality control of work done
·         Perform failure investigations and welding repairs of structures and components
·         Plan and perform advanced heat treatments and assist people on
·         non-destructive testing procedure
·         Develop a program for monitoring wear materials for optimum performance
·         Do material recommendations in terms of physical, chemical and mechanical properties
·         Identification and implementation of improvement projects to improve welding and material standards
·         Liaison with other heads, foreman, tradesman and suppliers for problem solving and to improve communication
·         Management of SHEQ (SHEQ ocumentation, ISO 14000 and ISO 9002), BBC program and STEP and Omega projects
