Job Description:

·         The advertised position is for the [Location] , situated 80km south of[Location] , close to the town of L] Balfour[/L].
·         [Location] will be built on modern infrastructure to service mining activities, using specialised equipment and technology to enhance safe production over the life of the mine (which will exceed 19 years as part of Phase 1 of the project).
·         Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, competency in project management and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) are also required.
·         This role takes responsibility for the quality of measurement, analysis and accounting of all parameters and results pertaining to the metallurgical process.
·         In addition, the incumbent manages the continuous improvement projects from a technical viewpoint and collates all data into daily, weekly and monthly reporting systems.
·         Work will be done in a multi-discipline project team providing process and extractive metallurgical engineering technical expertise.
·         Project assignments include design and analysis, material balances, lab and pilot plant testing, the development of process flowcharts, writing of reports and equipment specifications, as well as estimation of costs and sizing process equipment.
·         The successful candidate will be tasked with developing, installing and maintaining expert control systems for most major units in the process plant, as well as effecting a system of daily, weekly and monthly reporting that collates the process and financial data into accurate and meaningful reports to be sent timeously to Management.
·         He/she will manage the identified improvement projects and the process plant within the agreed priority sequence, time scale and budget. SCADA, manual and Excel data must be integrated into SAP in an accurate, effective and workable format for timeous access by Management.
·         He/she must ensure the metallurgical accounting system conforms to acceptable standards in terms of accuracy and definitions.
·         The end goals are the quality of control and the management of the programme to maintain a high level of consistency.
