Process Engineer
Description
Join a team that is continually introducing new metal combinations for applications at the forefront of the computer, energy, medical, automotive, telecom and other electronics industries.
Reporting to the Director of Quality & Process Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for improvements to existing processes and design of processes for successful introduction of new products.
The position requires the ability to successfully apply metallurgical and continuous coil strip metal processing expertise to the manufacture of clad, rerolled, welded and profiled strip products.
Metals processed include copper, aluminum, stainless steel, nickel, titanium, niobium, gold, palladium, platinum, silver, tin and alloys of each. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills to interface with customers, vendors and shop floor employees.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Metallurgy, Materials or Mechanical Engineering plus minimum of 3 years relevant work experience. Metallurgy preferred.
- Experience with production floor application of statistical process control methods.
- Apply six sigma/lean manufacturing principles to product and process development, problem analysis and utilize statistical analysis of process capabilities.
- Conduct root cause investigations including laboratory analysis of both internal non-conformances and external (customer) complaints.
- Familiar with ASTM Standards, ISO 9001 requirements, Automotive Standards (259000 and TS 16949).
- Minimum of Green Belt Lean Sigma qualification.
- Good project management skills, with ability to manage time, set priorities, and focus on achieving results.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with PPAPs, capability studies, GR&R, Minitab Software.
