Used and Surplus Parts Specialist

[Company] supplies equipment parts and service to the construction, forestry and mining industries and utility product users. It was created to provide customers with integrated solutions and to expand our service capabilities as a nationwide organization.
 
The Role:
Under the general supervision of the Product Support and Sales Manager and working in Acheson strategically with H&R Parts personnel, the Used and Surplus Parts Specialist is responsible to maintain and grow the company's customer base, product sales, and profitability through the sale of used, surplus and aftermarket parts. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides company representation as a specialist in the areas of used, surplus and aftermarket products handled by the Company and our sister company, H&R Parts, for both internal and external customers.
  • Maintains all records and paperwork regarding the assigned external customer group and serves as a resource for used parts for other internal representatives.
  • Develops sales forecasts and business plans for each assigned customer, including sales forecasting for parts, after market products, and other products promoted and assigned by the company.
  • Establishes and maintains strong, professional relationships with customers.
  • Assists with inventory, including work with the Parts Managers to ensure timely availability of all products being offered and sold.
Qualifications:
This position requires a sound understanding of the principles and concepts associated with the subject area, and an understanding of the relation of these concepts to the responsibilities of the position. Additional qualifications include, but are not limited to:
  • Ability to operate effectively in a diverse environment with a significant focus on client and customer relations.
  •  A strong sales, service or engineering orientation is required with preference given to those with 3 to 5 years of experience within the construction, mining, or industrial industries.
  • Experience in the heavy equipment business and familiarly with large equipment is required.
  • Must demonstrate willingness to proactively acquire new technical knowledge and strive to use best practices in areas related to the company's products and services.
  • Must be computer literate and demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Internet.
  • Must possess the ability to make intelligent and appropriate decisions, using good judgment, while under pressure.
