Senior Mine Engineer

Our client is a gold mining and exploration company with gold production facilities in Northern Ontario, Canada. The Company is focused on exploration, development and mining operations in major gold mining regions throughout the world.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer, you will lead the development of the strategic mine plan for one of the flagship mines. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the professional mine engineering expertise to bring the site into production and plan for future production.

Requirements

A BSc Mine Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 6 years of progressive "hands on" professional experience, with the majority in underground mining
Registered (or eligible for registration) with the Professional Engineers Ontario
High level of computer literacy as applied to mine engineering
Skills to produce mine plans using software such as Mine 2-4D, A-Mine, AutoCAD and advanced Excel
Must be familiar with long hole and cut/fill methods of mining
Must be familiar with underground ventilation methods and the use of ventilation software such as VnetPC.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills
The capability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative and energetic environment
