Senior Environmental Engineer

Applied Research and Technology (ART) supports [Company]’s Operations worldwide and plays a key role in developing environmental, metallurgical and process improvement projects. The group also assists in the development of new technology and properties for the Corporation. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join a world-class team of technologists, engineers and scientists at our centre in Trail, British Columbia, where we are expanding the environmental technology group to meet the growing needs of our in-house Corporate customers. The Senior Environmental Engineer will report to the Section Leader, Environmental Technology and will have a critical role working with our team enhancing the environmental performance of our Operations. As the successful candidate, you will be accountable for the initiation of new environmentally-related projects, project management and technology development.
 
Your duties will include supervision of technical staff and leadership/management roles. [Company]’s operations and the Exploration group will be your primary customers but you will build a strong network of contacts that includes senior management, external experts, Universities and researchers. A post-graduate degree in environmental engineering and 5-10 years of experience in the field is preferred for this position. Candidates with other engineering qualifications together with significant relevant experience in the development and implementation of environmental technology will also be considered. The position offers considerable scope for advancement.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Aptitude for development and application of environmental process technology
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Skills and experience in developing and executing technical projects
  • Ability to produce high quality written technical reports
  • Experience in working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Trail, located in south eastern British Columbia, offers an excellent quality of life with a moderate climate, reasonably priced housing, and excellent medical/educational facilities. The area offers world-class skiing, mountain biking, fly fishing, hunting and other recreational opportunities.
