Mine Operations Shift Supervisor
Job Description: BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Superintendent, Mine Operations, this position is responsible for achieving the production targets in accordance with prescribed daily plans, policies and procedures. The work schedule is a 3 day 3 night 6 off rotational shift.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supervise a multi-skilled unionized workforce within the context of the collective agreement
- Assess shift priorities, assign work and verify
- Manage safety performance and environmental diligence
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum grade 12 or GED
- A minimum combination of 10-15 years of supervisory and heavy equipment operating experience
- Past supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
- High motivation with good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong administrative skills
- A good working knowledge of OH&S regulations and an understanding of Loss Management techniques
- A knowledge of SAP, Modular Mining, and MS Office is a not necessary but is viewed as an asset
- Open Pit Mining experience is viewed as an asset
- Engineers/technicians with mining experience who are looking for field experience would be ideal for this role

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with others at various levels within the company
- Motivated, self starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
- An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
- Effective leadership skills; demonstrated ability to make important decisions
- Exercises good judgment on complex decisions
