Tooling Engineer

[Company] is a tier one automotive manufacturer of large precision class A structural stampings for BMW. In preparation for a new product launch and planned replacements the following listed positions are currently available:
 
Tooling Engineer
 
Reporting to the Tool & Die Manager w/ minimal supervision has complete program management responsibilities from tooling design to buy-off & future changes. Specifically ensures tooling is built to contractual specifications, manages outsourcing activities of tool shops & ensures related gauges, check fixtures, & tryout material are purchased, received & functional upon receipt of finished tooling.
 
Qualifications incl. a related engineering degree or completion of a Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship with 5 yrs demonstrated tooling management program experience preferably in automotive manufacturing with specific background in stamping/ welding/ assembly of class A stampings.
