Environmental Technician

Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting and supervising sampling programs in accordance with permit requirements, prepare requisite reports, conduct environmental site inspections, prepare and implement sediment erosion and control prescriptions, plan and conduct reclamation activities, assist with ML/ARD aspects, maintain environmental documentation and filing protocols, investigate environmental non-conformances, increase environmental awareness with WCC staff and contractor groups, facilitate liaison with government, stakeholders and First Nations on a project specific bases.
 
Qualifications:
Degree in Environmental Science or a Diploma in Environmental Technology, Biological Sciences Technology or related field with preferably 2 - 3 years experience in a relevant field. This position requires an individual who is highly organized and able to work independently and safetly with minimal direction, as well as physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Previous experience in a mining or industrial setting would be an asset, and computer skills including MS Word and Excel is required. Candidate must possess a valid BC driver's license.
