MINE AND FACILITY MANAGER
Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada

Assuming overall responsibility for our plant in Pugwash, NS, you will manage the day to day operations of a combined underground salt mining operation, an associated evaporation process, and a marine terminal distribution facility, including all aspects of financial, human resources, health and safety, production and maintenance activities. This position has five superintendents as direct reports for surface, underground, maintenance, plant engineering and reliability engineering.

You hold a bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering, or a relevant discipline, enhanced by a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the mining industry and at least 5 years’ experience in a senior supervisory role. An MBA would be a strong asset. Experience with project management and budget planning is essential and you must also possess an in-depth knowledge of safety regulations. A proven leader, you demonstrate excellent communication skills and, ideally, have some experience in a unionized environment. Flexibility is called for as you must be willing to relocate close to our plant in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada, and you must also be available to travel within Canada and the USA as required.
