Technical Metallurgical Manager

Description;
·         Contract expatriate position in the Mining sector in the Dem Rep of the Congo.
·         Salary around 180000US$ per annum plus benefits. (taxable)
·         Regrettably, we are unable to consider people who do not have prior copper/cobalt mining industry experience.
·         This is a single status position, also a residential position as opposed to a fly-in-fly-out position. Ample leave is provided for with a travelling allowance paid per annum in addition to the annual package specified.
·         The right candidate could be considered for the position of Chief Operating Officer in the short to medium term.
 
With The Above In Mind We Are Looking For:
·         Metallurgical or Engineering Degree or equivalent
·         Solid operational experience and management expertise with the focus on open pit copper / cobalt oxide deposits with a strong emphasis on hydrometallurgy is ESSENTIAL.
·         A proven production safety and cost management track record
·         Experience and expertise in managing technical services (Planning, Geology, Survey, Rock Mechanics, etc), with very good knowledge of engineering and hydrometallurgical processing
·         Need to show exceptional interpersonal skills and business acumen
 
Reporting To The General Manager, He Will:
·         Oversee all Operational departments
·         Set and achieve production targets and within approved schedules and budgets
·         Manage the expenditure of operating and capital budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operation
·         Promote a culture of awareness and commitment to safe working practices amongst all employees, which will enable a healthy and accident-free working environment.
 
This operation has big expansion potential and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to be intimately involved in the future success.

·         Annual leave of 50 working days per annum
