Production Control Supervisor - Cement

My client, a major cement manufacturing facility near Los Angeles CA has an immediate need for a Production Control Supervisor.
 
 
Summary: 
The Production Control Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of personnel in the daily operations of the production departments according to operating principles, company policies and procedures.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and directs hourly personnel.
  • Properly administers all plant policies and adheres to conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ensures production goals are met and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Works with the plant laboratory to meet product specifications.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and environmental matters.
  • Diagnoses delays in operations and takes appropriate actions to restore correct operating procedures.
  • Ensures timely call-out of required personnel. Generates work orders.
  • Coordinates repair work with maintenance and/or electrical personnel.
  • Maintains plant records and logs.
  • Conducts safety and training meetings.
 
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum high school education required, preferably a college degree, in Engineering or Sciences.
  • A minimum of 3 years cement plant operating experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact as a team member.
  • Good supervisory, leadership and motivational skills.
  • Working knowledge and technical understanding of cement manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Ability to make timely and critical decisions and deal with multiple tasks.
  • Kiln burning experience preferred.
  • Proficient in use of mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Management with the ability to work in a Total Quality environment.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts
