Mine Maintenance Superintendent

Our Client a leading Mining company is currently seeking a Mine Maintenance Superintendent for Saskatchewan location.
 
The Mine Maintenance Superintendent is accountable for mine maintenance budgets, employee safety, and effective maintenance program (planning and execution). This position is also responsible for the assembly; overhaul and installation for all mine mechanical equipment, as well as directing operation of the two underground mechanical repair shops.
 
Responsibilities
  • Developing, coordinating and enhancing the underground maintenance program, equipment rebuilds, and shutdown schedules and maintenance budget control. Managing/supervising people (setting goals, employee safety, promoting company/department goals,) etc.
  • Project management of operating and capital projects.
  • Troubleshooting problems in the mine.
  • Underground mechanical engineering support.
 
Qualification
  • Engineering degree with a focus in the Mechanical area is preferred.
  • 10 -15 yrs of experience in a maintenance environment and 4 years of experience in a mine engineering environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities with 3 plus years of supervisory experience. Effective communication, people management, budget control and decision making skills are required to be successful at this position.
