Senior / Principal Mine Planning Engineer

Due to continued growth, our client has created a new role for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to be based in their Mackay office.  This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to directly influence the company’s performance and competitiveness in the market by providing support and direction across all life stages including conceptual, greenfields, operational and expanding sites. 
 
You will undertake mine studies and will develop detailed conceptual designs and plans, determining optimal mining method and equipment selection.  You will support existing operations by providing expert technical services to optimise resources and develop long term mine plans.
 
Your interaction will be both at senior site level and corporate management and will require you to travel on occasions to sites in Queensland.
 
In this senior role, you will be provided with job diversity and a challenging working environment involved in a wide variety of projects, mining methods and different technical areas.
 
This role would ideally suit someone with a mixed background across multiple commodities / mining methods with strong operational experience teamed with a consulting or project development background.  It is essential for you to have experience in:
·         Mine studies (prefeasibility and feasibility)
·         Mine planning (full function)
·         Open cut coal
·         Optimisation
·         Equipment selection
·         Mine design
