Maintenance Mechanic
Responsibilities:
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance/mechanical Experience in process manufacturing maintenance.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum 3 years experience in process manufacturing or equivalent trade school diploma or certification.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Manufacturing software and Microsoft for electronic mail.

- Performs job duties in a manner that supports the belief that all jobs can be performed safely and that no job is worth doing that would risk the health, safety, or welfare of the plant employees or community.
- Ensures all maintenance practices are in compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations.
- Participates in incident investigations identifying root causes and appropriate corrective action to improve safety and environmental performance in the area.
- Understands supports, participates and strictly adheres to site standards, policies and procedures relevant to safety, industrial hygiene, security/CTPAT requirements and environmental.
- Promotes the belief that all jobs can be performed safely and that no job is worth doing that would risk the health, safety, or welfare of the plant employees or community.
- Initiates incident investigations, investigates incidents or near misses, identifies root cause, reports findings and implements action required to close SAR’s in the CIMS system.

- In emergency situations, removes people from confined spaces
- Contains and cleans-up hazardous waste spills
- Suppresses fires inside and outside of buildings
- Administers basic first aid
Maintenance Function
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with operators, supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinder, drill, and saws to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- May handle solid and hazardous waste, i.e., place waste materials in suitable containers and/or transport waste containers to appropriate on-site storage areas or onto trucks for shipment.
- May perform various inspections required by various regulatory agencies (ex.: RCRA and Title V) as well as any site required inspections.
