Payroll Tax Analyst
[Company] is seeking a qualified Payroll Tax Analyst for its Irving, TX location.
The Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for processing and filing payroll tax deposits and returns in a high-volume environment. In addition, the Payroll Tax Analyst will have the opportunity to work on integration projects, tax research, external vendor maintenance, and proactively recommending and executing best practices to optimize payroll tax processes.

Our companies produce a broad range of building materials, including cement, aggregates (crushed rock, sand and gravel), ready mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, concrete pipes, pavers, tiles and clay bricks.

Essential Responsibilities And Tasks:
- Ensure all payroll tax deposits and tax returns are completed and compliant with federal, state, provincial and local tax laws.
- Maintain current knowledge of tax laws affecting company/employees. Research tax issues as needed.
- Assist with year-end project and review and balance W-2s, T-4s.
- Prepare test scripts and analyze results for payroll tax updates and conversion of acquired company data.
- Continually identify process and system improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform audits of past filings/deposits to mitigate potential penalties and interest. Investigate and resolve tax notices in a timely manner to minimize/mitigate potential liabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of comprehensive multi-state and multi-company payroll experience
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills including decision-making, problem-solving and the ability to work through complex situations with other members of the team to achieve a positive outcome.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or tax.
- Certified Payroll Professional designation.
- Canadian and expatriate payroll tax experience.
- J.D. Edwards payroll experience.
- Query experience in ERP system.
