Chief Adviser Government Relations (AA)

An International Mining Group has an opening for a Chief Adviser Government Relations (Solid government relations experience) to develop and implement the Company’s Africa government relations strategies, and to maintain and manage dialogue, at the highest influential levels, with African national governments and key stakeholders.

Job descriptions:
  • Government relations budget
  • Reviewing Africa stakeholder maps, database
  • Identify and establish new & relevant relationships at the highest levels - relationships and calendars of key memberships & partnership institutions in Africa and the SADC region
  • Mentor and support External affairs business unit teams
  • Support Company executives and MD’s face to face meetings with key stakeholders
  • Review media to support role eg government and key stakeholders changes, messages, strategies
  • Be aware of legislative and political updates that may impact on our business
  • Management of External Affairs e-Room with Country briefs, Ministers speeches etc
  • Support key projects, External affairs business unit , functions on government relations
  • Manage and promote monthly Africa government relations teleconference
  • Input to Question and Answering sessions and presentations.
