Associate General Counsel

[Company] the global wet infrastructure sector leader and provider of engineering, construction and strategic consulting services, is seeking an Associate General Counsel for its Americas operations. The Americas operations encompass a full range of water related projects and programs including water supply, treatment and storage, dams and hydropower, water management for mining operations, and environmental services. The candidate for the Associate General Counsel position must have the ability to independently handle major or sensitive projects, legal problems or issues with minimal supervision or guidance. [Company] is a private, employee-owned company with offices in 34 countries.
Description
Under the direction of the Deputy General Counsel, the key legal tasks for this position include:

Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial and government contracts, primarily for the provision of engineering and construction services
Counseling senior management on project and corporate risks, and supporting the company’s project risk management program
Supporting the Vice President of Corporate Compliance in the execution of an effective compliance program
Managing assigned claims, litigation and disputes, directing outside counsel and developing claim and litigation strategies
Providing counsel and support in areas of corporate governance

Qualifications Experience:

An active license to practice law, Colorado preferred
At least 10 years’ experience with a law firm or in a corporate legal department
Experience as a transactional attorney
Significant client contact at all management and operational levels
Federal government and international contracting experience a plus
Ability to handle high volume of legal work
Strong writing, speaking, organizational and analytical skills
