Environmental Scientist / Environmental Engineer –Mid Level

  • JBR currently has an opening for a mid-level environmental scientist / engineer.  Work will include permitting, site investigations and remediation projects.  Projects may include: solid and hazardous waste management plans and permits; sampling of wastes, soil, surface water, and ground water; SPCC Plans; environmental compliance and due diligence audits; Phase I and Phase II ESAs; etc. 
  • Initially, works under mentorship of, and is supported by, more senior Project Manager Professionals.  Mid - Level personnel will help coordinate and conduct site investigative field and office work, will prepare and/or review regulatory permit applications and associated environmental reports.
  • Advancement will depend on an individual’s project delivery and communications skills and abilities, as evidenced with time.  Field-related work in Utah and neighboring states will be required.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with environmental regulations and management systems pertaining to solid and hazardous waste management (RCRA), air quality (CAA), water quality (CWA), remediation (CERCLA), and community right-to-know (SARA)
  • BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, or other Environmental or Engineering related field is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Excel, and other standard MS applications
  • HAZWOPER/MSHA training
  • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills are essential
  • Demonstrated serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines; must be detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize multiple resources and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to capture and interpret information
