Civil 3D CAD Designer

Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2006 or newer, Land Development Desktop or Eagle Point a must.
  • Experience with Civil 3D a plus
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associates Degree in drafting, or BS in engineering or science related field.
  • 1-5+ years Civil Design experience including experience in a range of civil design projects.
  • General Summary of the Position:
  • Participates in various phases of planning, and preparation of construction documentation and design drawings as part of a project team.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD standards.
  • Prepares site layout plans of limited complexity (including proposed grading) with the direction provided being limited to basic design requirements.
  • Prepares cross-sections and profiles, based on existing and proposed topography.
  • Calculates quantities to be used in construction estimates.
  • Determines earthwork volumes (cuts and fills) based on existing and proposed topography.
  • Provides value-oriented design suggestions.
  • Maintains neat and organized work area and computer files which allow efficient access to project information required by other team members.
