Job Description

- We are currently adding a Strategic Market/Financial Analyst to our Simplex team at our new Westmont, IL facility. Since 1899, [Company] (an[Company] ) has manufactured innovative positioning and lifting products. We specialize in mechanical jacks & hydraulic high pressure, high force equipment up to 1500 tons.
Business Contribution:
- Identify and develop business models and best practices to accelerate growth in key markets, channels and regions. Assists in identifying and leveraging organizational core competencies to deliver strategic objectives. Lead the budgeting and forecast process; full P&L oversight. Acts as a key catalyst in developing and sustaining change in the organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess new market opportunities, and trends in current as well as adjacent markets.
- Provide guidance on quarterly forecasts and yearly plan direction and other financial reporting duties as required.
- Develop business models, best practices, and metrics to drive business strategies and growth objectives
- Assist sales leader in the development of best practice commercial metrics and analysis.
- Support business improvement metrics – MBF and LEAD initiatives to increase brand competitiveness.
- Support functional leaders with analysis regarding growth opportunities, pricing, product costs, and other commercial initiatives, etc.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with specialization in Finance or Economics required. An MBA is highly desirable.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of commercial business analysis is required.
- High proficiency using electronic spreadsheet (Excel), database (Access), word processing and graphical presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Hyperion knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to heavily influence others in both passive and active resistance environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the expectation of being able to champion projects.
- Ability to analyze economic trends, assess market opportunities, and be able to clearly articulate those finding to key members of the leadership team.
- Ability to be a self-starter, conceptualize ideas, and develop programs with a high level of execution is required.
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to rapidly and accurately analyze a situation to arrive at an effective decision.
- Knowledge of business measurements: expense performance, rate of return, working capital investment, etc. is required.
- Ability to prepare forecasts and analyze trends in sales, manufacturing, SAE and general business conditions is required.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles: balance sheet, income statements, and controls as it relates to SOX, etc. is preferred.
