Job Description

• The Cost Accountant for[Company] ) in Binghamton, New York will be responsible for the all aspects of cost accounting and supporting the goals of the[Company] Financial team. 

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results
• Assist operational leaders with financial analysis
• Business participant at all levels of the business and with all disciplines
• Effectively lead and assist in the development Financial Team Members
• Demonstrated ability to run a cost system that included variance reporting, cost maintenance, and inventory valuation reviews
• Partner with Operations in the cycle counting process
• Demonstrated ability to use Hyperion and Accounting software
• Ability to perform standard margin analysis
• Work with Operations to ensure cycle counts are accurate and timely
• Responsible for internal control implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Other duties as assigned as the business/department grows/expands

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business with specialization in Accounting or Finance is required, masters preferred
• CPA/CMA certification is desired
• At least seven years of progressive accounting experience including a minimum of 1 year in Financial Accounting  experience in a manufacturing environment is required
• Demonstrated record of performance in working in both financial and operational business areas is required
• Ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment is required
• Sound interpersonal skills are required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
• Demonstrated abilities in analysis and problem resolution are required
• Strong project management skills are required
• Successful experience in developing and implementing Sarbanes-Oxley and US-GAAP compliant business procedures is required
• Excellent organization skills are required
• Experience working LEAN and Continuous Improvement
• Proficiency using electronic spreadsheet, database, word-processing, and graphical presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office applications is required
