Job Description

  • The [Company] Financial Management Development Program (FMDP) is a structured, 5 year rotational program allowing participants to build and sharpen their business/finance skills through on the job experiences and business challenges. Participants will participate in 2-4 assignments that would include internal audit, financial accounting, management, mergers & acquisitions, tax, treasury, etc. The FMDP is geared to develop the next generation of finance leaders for [Company] supporting growth objectives. Participants will be exposed to several [Company] business units and international challenges – all helping to instill a global business perspective. Working alongside [Company] leaders, participants will receive on the job training through coaching and mentoring during extensive rotational assignments. Participants will also build a network of peer contacts within the [Company] organization. Milwaukee, WI is home to [Company] Corporate Offices and a number of its business units. Roles for FMDP participants will not be limited to the Milwaukee area. [Company] is a global company so there will be opportunity for FMDP roles nationally and internationally. At the conclusion of the 5 year rotation, participants will exhibit an excellent working knowledge of [Company] and its business segments through supporting growth objectives and global perspectives. Examples of opportunities following the completion of the program include but are not limited to: Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Financial Analyst, Internal Audit Manager, Cost Accounting Manager, and Treasury Analyst.

Assignments may include exposure to some or all of the following:

  • Accounting process – journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
  • Business plans and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Internal Audit projects – Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Identify, research, and evaluate potential acquisition targets
  • Tax compliance
  • Credit/collections
  • Treasury analysis
  • Payroll functions
  • Business development

Required Skills

  • Qualified individuals will possess the following attributes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required with strong academic background.
  • Recent college graduate.
  • Business internship and/or previous business/finance experience.
  • Ability and desire to travel.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management and executives.
  • Possess high ethical standards and integrity, as well as maintain good working relationships with all employees, management and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process change with an orientation toward continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation will be required to be successful in this position.
