Product Manager – Recreation / Marine

Job Description

• The Product Manager – Recreation / Marine for [Company] Electrical in Menomonee Falls, WI is responsible for the overall profitability, growth, and vitality of the product line(s).  Serving as the virtual “general manager” for the product line, our Product Managers work with all areas of the organization to provide leadership and direction necessary to achieving profitability, growth, and vitality goals.

Required Skills

• Responsible for product line profitability.  This responsibility includes the setting of product prices, approving price quotes for customers and initiating cost reduction programs.
• Manages the life cycle of the product line from product definition, product design, product support, product rationalization and end of life phase out.  Responsible for the development of product roadmaps, multigenerational product plans, and the prioritization of product developments necessary to achieve growth.
• Provides marketing leadership and direction to engineering teams for both new product development and on-going product support activities via the understanding of customers, existing and emerging market and portfolio management.
• Develops and presents strategic product line plans.
• Supports the sales team with new product opportunities, current product performance, and market intelligence.
• Conducts Voice of Customer research to understand market size, market opportunities, competitors and product specifications.
• Provides product training via web conference, conference calls, personal presentations, etc. to sales team, engineering team, leadership team and customers.

Required Experience

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business or other applied Science.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in product management, marketing or engineering.
• Marine electrical system experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment and handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in analytical and personal computing skills, specifically using Microsoft Office applications.
• Work knowledge of Microsoft Project and Office Suite 2007 Project Management is required.
• Competencies required:  Customer Focus, Drive for Results, Action Oriented, Intellectual Horsepower, Business Acumen, Listening, Time Management and Presentation Skills.
• Oracle knowledge preferred.
• Technical experience in Recreational Vehicles and Marine Industry is preferred
