Job Description
- This position will be responsible for quality management strategy and implementation to ensure the highest standards for our customers. This role will report to the Global Operations Leader.
- With additional facilities in Barcelona, Mexico, and China, our company offers a wide array of opportunities and challenges.
Required Skills:
- BS in Engineering, Quality or related discipline and experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience desired; certification preferred
- Effective communication and presentation skills and ability to lead and develop others
- Basic to intermediate PC skills with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel; experience with CAD drawing software preferred
- Formal troubleshooting techniques including 8D, 5Y, and 3A’s
- Basic understanding of MRP, JIT and Kanban systems preferred
Required Experience:
- 5+ years quality experience including implementation of quality management strategies using TS-16949 standards, developing resources to support quality initiatives and plant performance, assessing areas that need improvement to the quality system and initiating actions for continual improvement, and managing timescales and financials to support, contribute and integrate within the strategic plan
- Ability to maintain customer satisfaction levels by deploying a proactive, preventive action approach to protect quality level and assure the customer’s critical-to-quality (CTQs) are understood and achieved through tools such as ECVS, FMEAs, SPC, mistake proofing, etc; act as liaison between functional areas and the customer, and resolve customer concerns through corrective action process (8Ds).
- Experience with monitoring and managing plant performance indicators and taking necessary steps to meet or exceed agreed targets and budgets (example of such metrics are internal and external PPMs, significant characteristics Cpks, plant RTY, scrap cost, warranty, customer satisfaction levels and customer concerns)
- Ability to plan and manage quality and manufacturing engineering activities to support the quality initiatives and meet plant performance levels, establish annual quality plan to continually improve quality systems, customer satisfaction, customer specifics, PPM’s and Cp/Cpk indexes, and act as “quality conscious” of plant by ensuring quality systems and standards are maintained through development of enterprise to understand and conform to quality systems and standard through training and education, and enforcing compliance of entire system via compliance audits
- Experience with ISO and TS-16949
- Experience with process control plans, FMEA, gage R&R, and Visual Factory preferred
