Geoscience Analyst-Appalachian Divison

Description

  • Geoscience Analyst Responsible for providing geologic technical support on multiple projects across the Appalachian Division.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers on varied tasks, responsible for supporting Exploration and Production projects through various stages toward completion
  • Print and scan geologic data, including reports, well logs, maps, and cross sections
  • Provide data management for digital and hard copy geologic data, reports and studies in conjunction with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and input data into SMT and other database projects utilizing existing data, acquiring additional data as needed from internal and vendor sources, integrating interpretations from technical professionals into database. This will include obtaining and loading initial cartographic information, loading raster and LAS data from wells
  • Coordinate geologic data on company and partner drilling wells, including interfacing with vendors to assure data is provided in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Assist Geologists, Geophysicists and Engineers as needed on any projects and tasks to assure timely and accurate operational excellence and evaluation of projects to meet company and business unit goals

Required Skills:

  • Prefer at least 2-years of experience as a Geoscience Analyst/Technician or similar role at an Exploration and Production company, or an undergraduate degree in Geoscience or related field and 1-years’ experience in the E&P industry.
  • Two-year or four-year college education in fields such as Geology, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Should have an understanding of the exploration and production business.
  • Knowledge of geological and geographical software products.
  • Strong knowledge of SMT and Earthpak desired.
  • Proficient in use of state and vendor data websites.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and goals across multiple teams and projects.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Should be familiar with computer-aided drafting, GIS, database management, and other general office applications.
  • Should possess basic knowledge of MS Access and some exposure to RDBMS like Oracle or MS SQL.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to improvise
