Buyer-Supply Chain Management

Purpose of Position: 

• Enhance supply chain management process for commodities responsible for: Cross & bearing kit components, gearboxes, machined yokes and assemblies. Assure that purchased requirements are met on a timely basis, with highest quality at lowest cost. Monitor and support the company's U.S. Customs compliance. Work with Information Systems to develop programs to enhance the performance of the Purchasing Dept.

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 year degree in Business, Accounting or Engineering; Engineering is preferred
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings-GD&T
• Skills in Communication, negotiating, and writing
• Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and data base applications; including experience working in MRP application
• Certification in the purchasing field is a plus-CPM
• Supply Chain Logistics training:
• Sourcing-Selection of suppliers, Developing Supply agreements and contracts
• Procurement-establishing packaging quantities, Kan Ban reoder points, EDI ordering, etc.

Required Experience

• 4-8 years’ experience in the Purchasing field-procuring metal products, machined components, plastics etc.
