CAD Designer

Position Responsibilities:

• [Company] is seeking a bright and motivated CAD Designer to work on a diversity of technically challenging projects across multiple markets. The CAD Designer is responsible for possessing a working knowledge of the design process and working with project managers and other team members to develop moderately complex layout and design drawings to achieve a 60-70% drawing completion rate without reiterations.
• Responsibilities include developing moderately complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge, ensuring that drawings conform to applicable industry standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures, utilizing PC software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or AutoCAD system for production of illustrations as appropriate. May also utilize more advanced software to complete assignments as deemed appropriate and gain fundamental knowledge of functionality between CAD and GIS data sets.

Position Requirements:

• 2 year technical degree or certificate from an accredited design/drafting course (or equivalent). 4+ years related experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD software and PC proficiency; AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation InRoads experience a plus! Proven ability to manipulate and layout data three dimensionally.
• Ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions and perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations. Ability to accomplish the described duties through the appropriate use of drafting, computer, and general office equipment. Ability to think creatively and collaborate with colleagues to create quality products.
