Compliance Manager

The Compliance Manager provides key financial and business support to the Americas Finance Leader.  This position is responsible for reviewing and implementing internal controls throughout the Western Region.  We consider this a growth position and expect the candidate to move into roles of higher responsibility within two years.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for conducting internal control reviews at all [Company] locations.
  • Responsible adjusting and implementing internal controls to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Responsible for preparing all SOX documentation for the region.
  • Participate in the Oracle implementation throughout the region.
  • Ensure compliance with parent company controls, best practice policies, and financial statement analysis.
  • Assist the Americas Finance Leader and other Leadership Team members with assigned projects
  • Participate in and promote process improvements in the manufacturing plants and the Company through the use of Lean processes and the Management By Fact program
  • Participate in the development of short and long-range goals for the accounting and manufacturing functions.  Insure that these goals are aligned with and assist [Company] in the achievement of its business objectives.
  • Assist management to identify ways of improving margins and profitability.
  • Provide financial support to various cross-functional teams as requested.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with specialization in Accounting is required. CPA and /or MBA preferred.
  • Eight plus years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing/equipment rental environment.
  • Demonstrated record of performance in working in both financial and operational business areas is required.
  • Demonstrated effective supervisory background, with at least five years of experience in directing multi-person staffs is required.
  • Ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment is required.
  • Sound interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated abilities in analysis and problem resolution are required.
  • Successful experience in developing and implementing ISO and US GAAP compliant business procedures is required.
  • Strong skills in account analysis, problem solving, attention to detail, and writing of commentary and analytical summaries is required.
  • Strong project management skills are required.
  • Excellent organization skills are required.
  • Proficiency using electronic spreadsheet, database, word-processing, and graphical presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office applications is required. Oracle knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience of working with complex ERP systems.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP (US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley or similar corporate governance processes.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills a plus.
  • Must be open to future relocation within the United States.
