Director - Mining Environmental Services

Job Responsibilities:

  • Due to continued growth, Golder is currently seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to take the lead in growing the Mining Environmental practice. While the position will be based in the Lakewood, Colorado office the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other members of our mining team in the US and internationally.
  • As a member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing and growing a coordinated US mining environmental services business and developing new environmental service opportunities to existing and potential clients by levering on the success of existing Golder projects and clients.
  • Golder’s US company has many practitioners in the mining environmental area who work in various offices. A large part of the requirements for this position is to coordinate these dispersed capabilities, to operate closely with the various mining environmental practices in other parts of the world, and to participate in developing a strategic path for our mining environmental practice.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the US Mining Sector Leader and other senior US Mining Principals.
  • It is also expected that the successful candidate will focus on development of non-traditional clients, especially in the financial sector, and develop business at the strategic levels within mining companies

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working at a senior management level on mining environmental issues.
  • Strategic vision on the direction of consulting services in the mining environmental practice area.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
  • Willingness to travel, both nationally and internationally.

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 20 years of industry or consulting engineering experience involving environmental aspects of mining, with at least 10 years at as senior management level.
