  • [Company] is currently hiring an Engineer/Senior Engineer in our Houston,TX office. The individual in this position will be responsible for analyzing a wide variety of mechanical and materials failures ranging from consumer products to complex mechanical systems. This position will involve experimental testing, field inspections, engineering analysis, and finite element modeling. The successful candidate will be expected to apply the principles of mechanical engineering design, applied mechanics and fracture mechanics to a wide variety of technical problems. The candidate will interact with clients, managers, engineers, laboratory personnel and non-technical staff.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in relevant field, such as applied mechanics, the mechanics of materials, or mechanical engineering
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in Finite Element analysis is preferable
  • Must have extended experience in using one or more commercial finite element software packages such as ABAQUS, MSC/Marc, ANSYS, and/or LS-Dyna and understand the fundamentals of the finite element analysis methodology
  • Some knowledge of metallurgy would be beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to convey technical information to individuals in engineering, business, legal and related industries
