Scientist/Engineer, Environmental Sciences

Requirements

  • Our Environmental Sciences Practice is hiring for an Engineer or Scientist in our Bellevue, WA office. The individual in this position will be part of a team of scientists (chemists, hydrogeologists, soil scientists, oceanographers, biostatisticians, epidemiologists and toxicologists) that participate in a variety of projects related to environmental issues, including litigation support.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to publish research in peer-reviewed journals, present at professional meetings, participate in business development, and be highly motivated to rapidly advance to a position of a senior consultant in demand by knowledgeable clients.

Responsibilities for this position includes:

  • Evaluation of the transport and fate of contaminants in air, surface water, sediments, vadose zone and/or groundwater
  • Design and implementation of field sampling programs
  • Evaluation of field and laboratory data
  • Data management
  • Geologic/hydrogeologic evaluation
  • Chemistry/geochemistry evaluation
  • Geospatial analyses
  • Graphical presentations

Qualifications for this position includes:

  • Minimum B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. preferred, plus 3-5 years of consulting experience in Environmental Engineering, Geology or related fields
  • On track for professional licensing: E.I.T., P.E. or L.G. preferred
  • Current HAZWOPER training
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to professional development as evidenced by track record of peer-reviewed publications, participation in technical conferences and commitment to professional engineering licensure or professional certifications
  • Strong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of engineering and scientific problems within and outside their direct areas of specialization
  • Environmental forensics skills/experience a plus
