Senior Mining Geotechnical Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
- The Redmond, Washington office is seeking a senior level geotechnical/civil engineer with a strong professional background and client relationships with experience in the design, operation and maintenance of mining facilities.
- As a Senior Mining Engineer for [Company] you will have the opportunity to make major contributions to a wide variety of challenging domestic and international projects. It is anticipated that the successful candidate would work both independently and in a team environment liaising directly with clients at a project management level.
Specific duties may include:
- Geotechnical/Civil studies for tailings ponds, heap leach pads, waste dumps and associated facilities
- Integrate with other technical discipline leads performing pre-feasibility and feasibility level mining assessments
- Liaison with US and International mining clients, including project identification and preparation of proposals
- Leadership of project teams on consulting assignments
- Assistance with mentoring and training of junior staff
- Project management, budgeting, scheduling and technical review
Job Requirements:
The preferred candidates will possess:
- A Masters degree in geotechnical, mining, civil or geological engineering
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the mining industry or mining consulting business
- Experience with surface tailings design and operation
- Experience as a senior mine planning/design engineer
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership ability and a willingness to travel
