Senior NEPA / CEQA Specialist and Project Manager

Description:
  • JBR Environmental Consultants , Inc. seeks qualified candidates to fill a full-time senior-level/project manager NEPA / CEQA Specialist position that could be located in either our Reno or Elko, Nevada offices, or our Salt Lake City, Utah office.
  • The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications:
  • 7 or more years’ experience in Environmental Science or Natural
  • Resource Management
  • B.S. in environmental planning, natural/cultural resources, or related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of NEPA and CEQA compliance as exhibited by preparation and close involvement with EAs and EISs
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • In addition to the above, preferred qualifications include the following:
  • Consulting experience
  • Mine permitting experience
  • M.S. in environmental planning, natural/cultural resources, or a related field
  • Responsibilities for this position would include serving as a project manager and technical specialist for a variety of NEPA documentation and related resource management and permitting projects. The successful candidate would be experienced in managing projects including budgets, technical staff, and reports related to
  • NEPA compliance documents, with secondary expertise in a natural/cultural resource discipline or industry relevant to the Intermountain West.
  • Responsibilities for this position will include serving as a technical specialist in preparing a variety of NEPA and/or CEQA documentation and related resource management and state and Federal permitting documents. The primary duties are to work with clients, resource agencies, environmental and technical staff to prepare environmental documents and technical studies for natural resource projects.
  • Candidates must be able to perform field work that includes hiking over long distances over rugged terrain in inclement weather, driving a car, operating field equipment and working independently.
