PSM and EHS Compliance Project Scientist/Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
- The Jacksonville, FL office of [Company] is seeking a PSM and EHS Compliance Project Scientist/Engineer. This individual will provide technical support on a variety of process safety management (PSM) and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing PSM and Risk Management Plan (RMP) Programs;
- Assisting with Process Hazard Analyses (PHA);
- Assisting with Off-site Consequence Analyses (OCA) and RMP submittals;
- Assisting in the development of EHS compliance programs for industrial clients, including developing procedures and permits, preparing and submitting periodic regulatory reports, and preparing EHS training programs;
- Conducting field assignments, such as performing EHS compliance audits, conducting training, chemical inventory assessments, job hazard assessments and similar assignments;
- Preparing technical reports, including documentation of audits and field investigative procedures, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.
- This position requires travel to and work at client sites for information gathering and client meetings. This individual will gain increasing responsibility for project and proposal management through training provided by [Company] and will work closely with and support senior PSM and EHS compliance practitioners and project managers. Interacting with clients and regulators to meet task and budget requirements is a key to success in this position.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience;
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering or similar scientific discipline;
- Knowledge of and experience with OSHA and EPA;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications;
- Experience developing and auditing PSM and EHS programs in industrial settings as well as experience in conducting or scribing Process Hazards Analyses preferred;
- Local candidates preferred.
