Responsibilities
- The Information Management (IM) Northern California Solution Manager's primary responsibility is to provide leadership and guidance to the district utilizing information management resources tasked with improving operational efficiency and streamlining processes across various lines of business.
- The Solution Manager will oversee information management and process improvement across multiple lines of business within the Northern California Office. The Solution Manager will foster innovation in various departments, investigate and exploit synergies across departments, work with other Solution Managers to develop best practices that are in alignment with organizational business objectives and ensure that established best practices are adopted as baseline across the organization.
- The Solutions Manager will work with other Solutions Managers to plan, coordinate, direct and design organizational activities, as well as provide support for business solutions that enhance mission-critical business processes.
- The Solutions Manager will ensure that IM projects are developed in accordance with the established Project Execution Framework and follow best business practices.
- The Solutions Manager will work closely with stakeholders and decision makers in the Northern California District Office and across districts and departments to identify, prioritize, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This is a hands-on position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate, recommend and implement solutions and processes to support and enhance organizational operations
- Align solutions and functions with industry, district and corporate strategic goals
- Support and work with corporate IM staff to implement new IM applications and initiatives
- Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
- Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs
- Proactively communicates and collaborates with customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements
- Successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Works independently with users to define concepts for complex problems or ideas
- Drives and challenges business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
- Serves as the conduit between the customer and the Information Management team through which requirements flow
- Acts as the liaison between business units, technology teams and support teams
- Manage outside vendors and consulting services
- Continually searching for ways to make the business more effective and productive
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an information management role involving IT/IM operations management, project management, process improvement and/or strategic planning
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional services role (consulting or construction)
- Strong communications skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proven experience in managing large project teams on complex, multi-disciplined projects
