International Engineering Geologists

A South West UK based civil engineering contractor are looking to procure an engineering geologist to work on a number of geotechnical investigation projects in Sierra Leone. The investigations will be taking place on large existing civil engineering projects, run by the parent company which including large scale mining, infrastructure, rail and road works.

Reporting to the UK based Technical Director the successful candidate will manage the day to day investigations as well as supervising the large drilling rigs and local and ex pat staff and site operatives. The successful candidate will be expected to be self sufficient and have the experience and working knowledge of technical reports and laboratory testing.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced and ambitious engineer who wants to gain industry experience abroad.

The ideal candidate will ideally
• Have previous experience of working abroad and away from home over long periods of time
• Have managed and supervised sites
• Be qualified but not essential
• Have substantial geotechnical experience
