The Role: Our Clients have a permanent position for a Section Manager within their Manufacturing and Logistics department. The applicant must be flexible and able to work any shift, whether this is days, lates, nights and weekends.
Essential Skills
Experience and Qualifications:
• It is essential that you have previously worked as a Section manager in a similar Manufacturing role.
• You must have excellent up to date knowledge of good manufacturing principles & practices so you can be involved in the drive for the company’s continuous improvement.
• This role requires you to be an excellent Team Player, with good human relations skills to help you develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
• This role requires you to have experience of leadership in a previous Logistics or Manufacturing role.
• You must possess excellent leadership & motivational skills, with the ability to act decisively and make decisions under pressure.
• This vacancy requires you to have excellent English Communication skills, both written and verbal.
• You must have the ability to identify the Root Cause and corrective action for issues in area, assign accountability, and track progress to resolution.
• You must have the ability to effectively analyse data in order to manage performance and understand trends and align targets.
• You must be a conscientious worker with a flexible attitude and willingness to work any shift.
• You must have excellent PC skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.
This role requires you to have the ability to learn or have experience of various management systems including the time keeping clocking system (Kronos), Riddor management and Continuous Improvement Tracking, etc.

Job Description:
• In this role you will be expected to monitor & improve all Safety aspects in the working area, eliminating any unsafe operations and ensuring a safe and clean production environment.
• You will be responsible for supervision, training, coaching, motivation, direction and development of personnel.
• You will be required to develop objectives and goals, along with the team, to support the Business and promote continuous improvement.
• This role produces product to meet quality standards while maintaining cost.
• You will be responsible for holding regular Process Improvement Dialogues that are supportive, open and honest, and centred on People, Quality, Velocity and Cost.
• You will be responsible for ensuring clear visibility and understanding of key metrics and progress to targets.
• You will need to co-ordinate activities with other functional areas of the operation, to ensure the efficient, accurate and timely achievement of contractual standards. This may include working extended hours, including weekends to meet schedules and production requirements.
• You will determine overtime need, determine priorities when resources are insufficient, and decide when disciplinary action is necessary.
• You will be responsible for maintaining Customer Focus and support the client at operational meetings.
• You will need to ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule.
• You will work to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value added activities.
• You will maintain various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Standard Work, etc.
Salary/Rate: Up to £33,691 per annum depending on previous experience.
