Piping Project Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Ability to prepare detailed 3D drawings in AutoCAD, AutoPlant, & TSI CAD-Mech as well as various other design modeling and coordination software (Navisworks) formats.
- Perform complete checking functions of all drawings and bill of materials (plans & sections, isometric's, spool sheets, B.O.M.'s.)
- Must have comprehensive piping layout skills, including understanding of mechanical equipment rooms and systems (HVAC piping, steam, plumbing, industrial process piping, water and wastewater piping)
- Knowledge of other mechanical trades (sheet metal, plumbing, electrical)
- Knowledge of construction techniques (architectural, structural)
- Must have comprehensive piping project management skills (i.e. scheduling, budgeting, expediting, material coordination, customer interface.)
- Assist/consult in the development of project management quotes done by the Pre-Construction department.
- Assist/consult in the development of change orders and the evaluation of back-charges.
- Plan and schedule work to ensure project schedule milestones and deliverables are met.
- Coordinate complete project and material handling from manufacturing to installation (i.e. bagging & tagging/expediting, fabrication of[Company] and welded spools, field logistics.)
- Assist in the training of Piping Coordinators, Draftspersons, Trainees, and Interns.
Qualifications:
- Two year Mechanical Drafting Technical School Education and/or Associate Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years in piping layout experience in HVAC and/or Industrial preferred, or other equivalent experience, such as plumbing and/or steam.
- Piping specification engineering experience preferred.
- Experience in pipe stress analysis and pipe support design preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD and AutoPlant, TSI CAD-Mech, & Navisworks software preferred.
- Piping field installation experience and / or piping fabrication experience preferred.
- Travel up to 10%.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and customer service skills required.
