Description and Desired Qualifications
- Our Environmental Compliance Specialist careers provide you with an opportunity to work on environmental compliance and permitting projects including NPDES, SPCC, RCRA and other environmental permitting, environmental management systems (EMS) and multi-media compliance auditing, in California and the Southwest Region. Each day, as a project team member you will be the face of [Company] in a wide variety of environmental compliance tasks, as you develop skills in the field of environmental regulatory compliance, under the guidance of senior staff and through multiple opportunities to work independently and with peers.
- You should be a self-motivated professional with a minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience as Environmental Compliance Specialist in an industrial environmental consulting environment, and a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each multi-media environmental compliance job.
Our Environmental Compliance Specialists:
- Focus on multi-media environmental compliance projects, including NPDES permitting, SWPPP and SPCC plan development, and stormwater management for both operating and construction projects.
- Demonstrate experience with stormwater compliance monitoring and desire to obtain QSP qualification.
- Understand RCRA waste management, including permitting, auditing and waste characterization for operating facilities and remediation sites.
- Demonstrate experience in environmental compliance auditing, and development, implementation, and auditing of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Travel to client sites and conduct field activities such as gather data for permit preparation, conduct multi-media environmental audits, and conduct sampling and routine testing.
- Demonstrate experience with, and a working knowledge of, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), CEQA and other federal and state laws and regulations, with emphasis on California experience.
- Work independently on multiple opportunities and as part of a mentoring process under the guidance of senior staff and peers
- Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills with ability to discuss projects with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and internal team members, and in public in meetings as well as excellent writing skills by producing concise and readable documents

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science from a U.S. accredited college or university
- 2 years’ experience with multi-media environmental compliance permitting, auditing and consulting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science from a U.S. accredited college or university
