Geologist

Our client is a publically traded international oil & gas exploration focused company with solid financial backing and has a 2011 net capital budget of over $40 Million and up to 10 wells drilling program.  Our client is one of many companies within a group of publically traded organizations in either oil & gas, energy or mining - geographically diverse, and either exploration or production focused. Our client is looking to add to its team an internationally experienced:

Internationally Focused Geologist

Intermediate to Senior

This near start-up Calgary based position will report to the VP of Exploration and work within a small Geoscience team including other Geologists and a Geoscientist.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will likely have most of the following:

• 10 plus years progressive technical geological oil & gas experience with strong development skills & experience with a balance of some good exploration geology as well
• B. Sc Geology from a recognized university - graduate degree(s) would be an asset
• likely major oil & gas company experience early in career - including international and some expat work, later career with smaller / junior company experience
• 3 plus years international geology focused experience ideally with some  internationally based
• An "oil finder" with experience with carbonates & clastics
• Strong oil & gas geology skills who can effectively & respectfully  balance "technical honesty" and openness to new ideas &/or data
• Some seismic work station skills & experience will be expected (SMT)
• P Geol designation or APEGGA eligible
