EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you MUST have:
EITHER
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and at least 5 years' experience in a product development environment involving phosphine or other pyrophoric compounds.
OR
A Master's Degree in Chemistry with significant lab work involving pyrophoric compounds, Schlenk-techniques, and work under inert atmospheres.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Our client is a global specialty Chemicals and Materials company focused on developing, manufacturing and selling value-added products. Their products serve a diverse range of end markets including fumigation, electronics, mining and pharmaceuticals. Their customers use their technology and application development expertise to create solutions that are formulated to perform specific and important functions.
The Chemist is responsible for the synthesis, process development and for the development of analytical procedures of novel phosphine chemicals. S/He is also accountable for the packaging and shipping of evaluation samples and small orders for the phosphine business. The Chemist also notes potential hazards and recommends corrective actions.
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
EDUCATION: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry or similar.
