MIS-Business Analyst/Project Manager

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Business or equivalent work and educational experience.
  • Five (5) + years of experience in business analysis, applications integration and support.

The purpose of this position is:

  • This role is a primary interface with key business clients to achieve alignment of business objectives and application functionality. 
  • This position is responsible for evaluating business requirements, defining the approach, and delivering value-added solutions and products from MIS. 
  • In addition, this role will work with other business and MIS staff to support the systems, processes, and procedures of Freeport-McMoRan and TFM

The key challenges in this position include:

  • Independently perform business process mapping activities to define gaps between current state and future requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business clients and sponsors
  • The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:
  • The System Integrator will be proactive in providing strategic direction and building
  • Awareness with business sponsors to define the optimal approach to address business issues.
  • He/she will advise clients on alternative solutions; whether it is revised SOPs, or a suggested system change.
  • In addition, as business requirements change, he/she will work with the business community and MIS to recommend and deliver new integrated solutions.
  • The individual in this role is expected to evaluate emerging applications and technologies; which can impact our business strategies, as well as identify and resolve gaps in our current or proposed system strategies.
  • The System Integrator is expected to perform at very high levels regarding system knowledge, application functionality and business process expertise and provide excellent customer support to the user community.
  • Support Month-End and Year-End closing efforts (technical and system driven processes).
  • Prepare written documentation related to project scope and definition under general supervision, which includes estimated costs, deliverables and critical success factors.
  • Select, configure, integrate and implement packaged software solutions.
  • Provide system administrator experience for ERP and other applications supported by the EAM team. This include front end and back end system administration responsibilities.
  • Perform Project Management function on small to large scale projects.
  • End-User support for system driven or controlled processes.

  • General knowledge of Maintenance, Finance, and Supply Chain concepts and terminology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Strong knowledge of business concepts and applications which support the business.
  • Ability to differentiate user errors from software errors and recommend the appropriate course of action.
  • Have a general understanding of relational database concepts to assist in system and data design.
  • Trained in current technology knowledge. Oracle / SQL knowledge.
  • Proficient in the IT skills of requirements analysis, design, testing and solution implementation.
  • Strong problem solving, process improvement, and business acumen skills.
  • Strong facilitator that can drive a diverse project team to resolve complex issues and make sound business and technical decisions.
  • Proven track record to work independently and as a team member.
  • Flexible and results-oriented.
  • Collaborative, positive, professional image; Solid leadership skills required.
  • Ability to facilitate and make good decisions, enforce company policies in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and strong listening skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and client service oriented.
  • Must demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
