Financial Manager

Mining organisation requires qualified individual to Lead the execution and implementation of the financial strategy by converting the strategy to a operational financial plan, Implement and maintain control systems and processes, Manage the IT aspects of the business, Manage the procurement and storekeeping aspects of the business as well as Manage the payroll function.

Key Performance Areas:

Lead financial, IT and procurement strategy execution and implementation by:

Translating the strategic objectives of the company into a operational financial plan appropriate to the business
Structuring, appointing and managing a competent financial team, accountable for their performance
Ensuring the delegation of objectives to staff within a control framework to ensure that objectives are monitored and achieved
Taking appropriate action when it becomes evident that objectives may not be achieved
Keeping the General Manager and Opco informed regarding progress with the achievement of strategic and business plan objectives

Implement and maintain control systems and processes in a manner that will ensure:

Compliance to financial standards (e.g. GAAP)
Compliance to legal requirements
Accurate reporting information on a regular basis as required by the General Manager and/or Opco/Exco and/or statutory entities
Audit compliant processes being implemented and followed in the group
Manage compliance to company policies and procedures including the company’s approval framework.
Manage external compliance such as VAT, PAYE, Company Tax, levies and royalties.
