Mining Plant Foreman

Our client, one of the largest Chrome mines in SA is urgently looking to appoint a highly competent and experience Foreman.

Strong gravity (spiral plant) and HMS (Heavy Medium Separation) experience essential in chrome or iron ore.
Reports to the Metallurgical Manager

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

BTech Analytical Chemistry or equivalent 4 year diploma or 3 year degree
5 years' experience in a similar position (essential)

Job Specification

Duties

New position to assist in maximizing production, grades and decreasing tailings percentages
Improve maintenance of the benefaction and processing of minerals in a safe and cost effective manner in order to meet production requirements
Quality control and quality assurance in the plants
Ensuring plant equipment adequately maintained
Ensure that the mine's safety policies, values and principles complied with
SHEQ compliance within the plant
Ensure the Du Pont initiative is given top priority and implemented
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
Maintain high levels of compliance with all HIRA procedures
Reporting of incidents and near misses
Assist in effective labour planning and control
Ensure the efficient operation of the section
VALID DRIVER'S LICENCE WITH OWN TRANSPORT
